He believed that sports could play an important role in rebuilding the self-esteem of Japan and it was the start of a company that would develop into one of the largest brands in the world. It was the Olympic games of the 1960s that affirmed Onitsuka Tiger’s worldwide fame and respect, with the shoes used at the 1968 games being the first to incorporate the now famous Tiger Stripes. The now firmly established Onitsuka Tiger brand is a must-have and is seen on fashionable and trend setting feet all over the world. COOLIDGE is a name is taken from a 1980s US basketball TV show. The Onitsuka Tiger Coolidge by Asics is a mid top trainer that features design elements from classic basketball styles of the 1970's. The silhouette of this shoe is narrower for a sleek defined appearance and the external wing panels and vulcanized sole retain the classic basketball style. The Coolidge is the ideal combination of a classic shoe with fantastic comfort and quality.

This retro styled trainer features a white leather upper for durability, with the trademark Asics Onitsuka Tiger side stripes in dark brown. Also featured is the Onitsuka Tiger logo on the tongue, a rubber toe part and an EVA midsole. The low repulsion material used in the sock liner improves cushioning and the rubber outsole delivers great traction.
